JuCa - JugendCafe

Since Fall 2006 we have opened our Youth Cafe (JugendCafe or JuCa) to reach out to the kids and teens in our area. A few students from our church who are studying at the local Teacher's College offer free tutoring in subjects like Math, English, German, History, etc.

We weren't sure how that would turn out, but so far the kids love it! They have a place to do homework, get help when needed and just hang out (we have a foosball table, darts, other games). And we offer lunch, snacks, drinks, coffee - all at cost. So many of the kids hang out all afternoon!

More and more kids have been coming lately - word has gotten around. There have been many good conversations w/ them - and it is just a way we can share the love and life of Jesus w/ them. Some even come to Wed night service. So continue to pray for them!

What a FANTASTIC place! It looks wonderful to hang out in. What a blessing...I pray that many hearts are turned toward God through this cafe!

Does David go and hang out there and talk to the kids? Or do you have some college kids that are in charge of the ministry?

hi jan,

both, we have the college kids who tutor and i go and hang out sometimes to get to know the teens and the college students better (not to mention the great coffee!)

actually it's open to all, not just to teens.
