Budding Singer/Songwriter?

Taliah has always loved to sing. When she was about 2 years old she would get up between 5:30 and 6 in the morning, turn on the light and start singing....at the top of her lungs. Jamie got a first hand taste of this when she was staying with us. She was awoken at around 6am by Taliah sitting on the edge of her bed singing the VeggieTales theme song, queitly at least, but the whole thing! I think she was around 3 at the time. Then she went through a phase where she would sing in the bathroom, the acustics are better there. Now she just sings or hums all the time. Most of the time she just sings about whatever she is doing, no particular tune just singing, every now and then she will sing a kids worship song from church or one of the songs from kindergarten (in German of course).
Well the other day as we were walking home from kindergarten, in the rain, she made up a new song. To the tune of 'twinkle, twinkle little star' she was singing 'sprinkle, sprinkle little cloud, how much does God love you now'. I thought that was pretty creative!

I will be posting more later, have lots of pictures and stuff from our time in mallorca, and rainy day fun back here in Germany(since it has done nothing but rain since we got back!).

I have heard some of Taliah's singing/talking. The last time we came to Germany in Nov '04? (when Zachy was born)she and David picked us up at the airport and Taliah sang and talked all the way back home. When we were getting close to Freiburg, I told Taliah "lets play the quiet game." David spoke up from the driver's seat and said "She doesn't DO quiet." That's okay Taliah, you just keep on singing!!

My sister was like that. We actually made her sing only in the bathroom. With the door shut.
She would always insist that singing people are happy people.
At least Talia is worshipping while she is singing.
May I offer a suggestion for your sakes: do NOT get her the soundtrack to Annie.

Hey everyone, singing people are happy people!! I'm 56 and I wake up everyday with a song playing in my head and start singing. The "grouchies" who live in my house don't always appreciate happy people. It must be a sad life to not appreciate talented, happy people in the early morning!

Grandma Jan
